Santa Fe’s westbound SAN FRANCISCO CHIEF negotiates a “shoo-fly” around a freight train derailment at Dunmoor, New Mexico, on November 28, 1969. A SD24 and three GP35s were involved in the mishap, but none was heavily damaged and all were returned to service. Cause of the derailment is unknown. Dunmoor was on Santa Fe’s 2nd District, later the Clovis Subdivision between Vaughn and Mountainair.
